ASICS is no stranger to putting a floral twist on its various runners. However, the brand has typically leaned on frequent collaborator Cecilie Bahnsen to assemble these playful takes. The duo just dropped the GEL-KAYANO 20 in two flower-covered colorways at the start of May and ASICS has now gone on to tease its own in-line “Floral Pack” featuring the GEL-CUMULUS 16.
It’s become apparent that 2014’s ASICS GEL-CUMULUS 16 will be making a return to the market this year, with these two new looks putting a whimsical spin on the runner. Both pairs see a synthetic upper host yellow and black as backdrops, with black graphics of flowers scattered atop each. The sneaker’s semi-translucent overlays arrive in silver and black for the first look and all-black for the second. One notable upgrade made to the silhouette is the removal of its traditional laces in favor of a cord lacing system that features a flower shape atop the tongue.
At the time of writing, ASICS has not yet indicated when these two floral GEL-CUMULUS 16 colorways will be dropping. Stay tuned for updates as we currently expect both pairs to arrive on shelves later this year via ASICS and select retailers, likely above the model’s previous price point of $115 USD.
